The video shows a group of men setting fire to the Governor's Office in Mashhad by throwing a Molotov cocktail. They have said that it was revenge for executing Majidreza Rahnavard and Mohsen Shekari.
Mohsen Shekari, 23, was executed in December 2022 after being arrested for blocking a road in protest. He was charged with 'corruption on earth'.
Majidreza Rahnavard was arrested 23 days before his execution on December 12th, 2022. He was accused of killing two Basij militia members and injuring 4 other Basijis. The reasons for his arrest are currently unknown.
